Sony Pictures Will Be Launching “Journey To Bethlehem” On Friday.

This will be Sony Pictures' first faith-based musical film set to be released before Christmas.

Sony Pictures’ AFFIRM Films and Monarch Media will be launching “Journey to Bethlehem” on Friday as it will be in theaters on November 30.

The faith-based film will be the first musical film for Sony Pictures in over 17 years and 65 films. 

The film is based on a young woman carrying an unthinkable responsibility, where a young man is torn between honor and love. A king who becomes jealous will stop at nothing to maintain his crown.

The musical film is a Christmas classic includes classical melodies with humor, faith, and new pop songs in telling the backstory of the Birth of Jesus Christ. 

“Journey To Bethlehem” is directed by Adam Anders, who is also one the producers of the film along with Alan Powell and Steve Barnett through Monarch Media.

Anders is an award-winning music producer worked on “Glee”, “High School Musical”, “Descendants”, and “The Passion.” This is his feature directorial debut that he wrote the script with Peter Barsocchini (“High School Musical” franchise) and wrote the music with Nikki Anders (“Glee”, “High School Musical”, “Descendant”) and Peer Astrom (“Rock of Ages”, “Glee”, “High School Musical”, “Descendants”).

“I have had a dream to create a Christmas musical for years and to see it come to life with a stunning cast has exceeded every expectation,” said Anders. “We could not be more excited for this film to be a classic for years to come.”

“Journey To Bethlehem” casts include Antonio Banderas (“Desperado” 1995), Milo Manheim (“Zombies 3” 2022), Geno Segers (“Yellowstone” 2018) and Fiona Palomo (“Outer Banks” 2023-2024).

“I hope this music goes down in history because I’m going to be listening to it for a long time, said actor Milo Manheim. “It’s one of the best musicals I’ve ever been a part of.”

Manheim plays the biological father of Jesus Christ, Joseph.
