Hamas fighters were able to breach the security fence and penetrate several military installations in a surprise attack against Israel.

The US president also warned other parties hostile to Israel from taking advantage of the ongoing violence in Israel and offered all appropriate means of support to the government and people of Israel. “The United States unequivocally condemns this appalling assault against Israel by Hamas terrorists from Gaza,” said Biden.
