Vladamir Shishkin Next For Canelo? IBF Contender Stakes Claim With 2nd Round KO Of Ayala‌

‌Russian super middleweight contender is on a collison course for a title fight‌

As Canelo Alvarez looks for his next opponent—  Vladamir Shishkin could be in the mix.

The current IBF’s Number 2 contender devastated Ramon Ayala last Friday Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami, Florida.

“I watched the Canelo fight closely the day after my fight and feel completely ready to win when that opportunity comes. No matter what, all roads to the world title,” Shishkin said in a media statement.

Shishkin improved his (15-0, 9 kos) with a second round knockout over the game Ayala (25-9-1) in a fight to stay active and on Canelo’s radar.

“Vladmir is on track to fight for the Super Middleweight World Title” said Dmitry Salita in an exclusive interview with Zenger News, “He keeps gettting better, stronger, and sharper.

 In October 2018, Shishkin  knocked out Nadjib Mohammedi   before putting together his most recent seven wins across America in a rise through the ranks only slowed by COVID-19. With stars and contendeers like David Benavidez David Morrell, Christian Mbilli, Demetrius Andrade, Caleb Plant, Edgar Berlanga and Jaime Munguia the 168-lbs super middlewieght division is witnessing a golden age in terms of talent nad fan interest.

At age 32, Shishkin has already defeated one former world champion:  José Uzcátegui. Shishkin won a unanimous descion over at  Chelsea Ballroom at the Cosmopolitian Las Vegas on December 17, 2022. Shishkin ring success in the professional ranks builds on a solid amateur record of 301-29 in his native Russia.

“His time to domiante the division is now and his prescence will add a new dominant force to this talent packed division,” Salita said.
