Taylor Swift’s ‘Era’s Tour’ Rakes In $26 Million In Pre-Sales

Global music icon Taylor Swift is making waves in the entertainment industry, not just with her chart-topping tracks, but now with her “Eras Tour” film.

What Happened: Scheduled for a theatrical release on Oct. 13, 2024, the film’s pre-sale tickets have set the cash registers ringing.

Following the release of the pre-sale tickets on Aug. 31, AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc experienced an unparalleled demand. In a mere span of three hours, sales skyrocketed to $26 million, The Verge reported.

The previous record of $16.9 million was held by “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Given the overwhelming response, AMC indicated the addition of more screenings.

During its run at AMC, the Eras Tour concert film will play at least four showtimes on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at every theater location in the U.S.

Last week, Swift posted on X that her concert series had been filmed and was set for a theatrical release in October 2024.

Meanwhile, Fandango’s single-day sales for 2023 saw the concert film rubbing shoulders with major franchises such as Marvel and Star Wars.

Jerramy Hainline, senior vice president at Fandango, expressed his astonishment, saying in a statement, “Not only is Taylor Swift’s concert film the best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango, but the concert film is performing like the superhero she is and ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and more.”
