Parents are trying all sorts of tricks to keep their kids hydrated this summer, including freezing fruit into ice cubes.
Other tips to get them to consume more fluid included making ice lollies and eating snacks rich in water content, such as watermelon, grapes and strawberries.
While 59 percent said their children consider flavored water a treat, with strawberry, lemon and summer fruits top choices.
In a bid to engage children to eat and drink right, parents are also planning picnics, working together with them to cook dinner and preparing fun-shaped foods.
The study of 1,300 parents of children, aged five to 17, found 79 percent are more determined than ever to ensure their kids’ water bottles are adequately topped up during the summer.
And 47 percent admitted they’re on hydration high alert during the summer months.
The research, commissioned by Volvic Touch of Fruit Sugar Free, also found 68 per cent of mums and dads are feeling positive about the weeks ahead.
Quality family time, relaxation with the kids and a break from the school routine are some of the things they’re looking forward to most.
While a third hope to spend more time together at mealtimes, rather than dealing with the usual rush.
Parents are also embarking on activities in the warmer weather with their kids that’ll work up a thirst, including swimming, playing varying sports, trips to the beach and coloring.
The brand is launching a two-day “Touch of Colour” outdoor ‘sip and sketch’ coloring experience on August 5th and 6th, along London’s South Bank at Queen’s Stone.
Singer Aston Merrygold and his wife Sarah will be bringing their kids to sip and sketch.
