Mary Trump Criticizes Elon Musk And Twitter’s Name Change, Alleges White Supremacy

Mary Trump slams Elon Musk over Twitter's rebranding, calling him an insecure white supremacist

Donald Trump’s niece Mary Trump took to Twitter to express her anguish over the social media platform’s name and logo change.

What Happened: “Is Elon Musk an insecure prepubescent, incompetent moronic white supremacist OR was his goal all along to destroy Twitter,” Mary Trump said in a rant on Twitter.

Using WTF, a euphemistic initialism to express her feelings over Twitter’s name change to X, Mary Trump said today it is clear that the answer is both.

“What a travesty. Seriously, go f**k yourself,” she said, tagging Musk.

This is not the first time Mary Trump, a psychologist, has come out hard on the Tesla CEO. When Musk suspended certain Twitter accounts for doxxing his location in late 2022, she notified her followers to find her on Post in the eventuality of a certain “thin-skinned Nazi enabler” suspending her account. This is apparently referring to Musk, who had let many neo-Nazis reappear on Twitter after his takeover.

In late April, when Musk courted controversy by removing blue checks that helped verify the identities of high-profile users and distinguish them from impostors. In order to become eligible for blue checks, Twitter began charging $8 a month for individuals, and $1,000 a month for businesses, with $50 for each affiliate and employee.

While calling out Musk, Mary Trump referenced an episode in the first season of the television series “Twilight Zone,” in which alien invaders cause a power outage, creating havoc in a small community and exposing humanity’s self-destructive behavior.

Why It’s Important: Musk’s rebranding exercise has not gone down well with even his staunch supporters. Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives tweeted on Monday that losing the iconic world-renowned bird logo is a risky move from a branding perspective. He sees the rebranding as part of the Twitter transformation that will eventually lead to the super app concept.
