FBI Director Wray Declines To Comment On Potential Biden Bribery Investigation

Lawmakers press for answers regarding allegations of criminal bribery scheme involving President Joe Biden.

FBI Director Christopher Wray declined to answer lawmakers’ questions about a potential federal investigation into President Joe Biden‘s alleged involvement in a criminal bribery scheme.

During the House Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday, Wray insisted that his team is “absolutely not” protecting the Biden family amid allegations that political factors influenced the investigation into Hunter Biden, reported Fox News.

While addressing the committee, Wray refuted accusations of politicization within the bureau. He also criticized claims of biases against conservatives as “somewhat insane.”

Wray was nominated by former President Donald Trump in June 2017 as FBI director.

Meanwhile, despite Wray’s denials, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan maintained he is committed to preventing the “weaponization of the government against the American people.” He also criticized the perceived “double standard” existing within the American justice system.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) pointed out the claims made by IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley against the Justice Department. Shapley alleged that measures were taken during the extensive investigation into Hunter Biden to shield him and restrict any inquiries related to President Biden.

“You seem deeply uncurious about it, don’t you?” Gaetz said.

“Almost suspiciously uncurious. Are you protecting the Bidens?”

“Absolutely not,” Wray replied. “The FBI has no interest in protecting anyone politically.”

When Wray was pressed by Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI), to reveal the allegations contained in the key FD-1023 form — related to a criminal bribery scheme between then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national — the FBI chief declined to answer that.

Tiffany asked specifically whether the president took any payments from foreign nationals or companies while serving as vice president. Wray said there was an “ongoing investigation” by the U.S. attorney for Delaware.

“So the president is under investigation?” Tiffany asked.

“I’m not going to confirm or speak to who is or isn’t under investigation for what,” Wray said.

“So he’s not under investigation?” Tiffany asked.

“I didn’t say that either,” Wray replied.
