On February 3 at Wembley Arena, Adam Azim will face off against undefeated former champion Enock Poulsen in the first defense of his European super-lightweight title. They will be the main support for the much awaited Joshua Buatsi vs. Dan Azeez fight.

The main event of a huge night of boxing in the capital is an eliminator for the WBA world title between undefeated light-heavyweights Buatsi and Azeez, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the world.

In front of a receptive audience in Wolverhampton in November, Azim(10-0, 6KOs) defeated Franck Petitjean to claim the title of European king. An incredible accomplishment for the 21-year-old, who broke the records of former champions Spencer Oliver and “Prince” Naseem Hamed to become the youngest Englishman to win the European title. He also became the first British-Pakistani to earn the blue and gold belt.

“I’m always ticking over in the gym and doing crazy runs. The main thing is to be out there as soon as possible because as a boxer, me as a fighter, I’ve got to learn and develop and I can’t wait to get back in the ring straightaway now,” said Azim in media reports. “That belt is staying in Slough,” he added.

Having already defeated Petitjean to win the title in April 2022, Poulsen (14-0, 5KOs) is a veteran of European competition. Having witnessed Azim’s moment of glory up close, Poulsen a 31-year old from Zambia is certain that he deserves the belt because he has never lost it in competition. He is keen to reclaim the title and put an end to Azim’s quick ascent.

“The fight was good for him. He is a very skilful boxer, a young talented guy. But of course, I saw some things I’ll use. He has power, he has speed. It’s perfect for me because it’s going to be a big fight,” said Poulsen in media reports.

“Adam Azim announced himself on the big stage by winning the European title in just his 10th fight. Now he’s taking on an undefeated fighter. Someone who has held this belt himself, never lost it in the ring, and believes himself to be the rightful champion,” said Ben Shalom, Boxxer founder and CEO.
