Cosplayer Designs ‘Barbenheimer’ Outfit For Back-to-Back Screenings Of Barbie And Oppenheimer

Lillian Isley creates a unique cosplay outfit inspired by the clash of cinematic titans

A cosplayer has designed the perfect outfit for cinephiles attending back-to-back screenings of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer.”

Lillian Isley, 33, who has been cosplaying for more than 15 years, was inspired by the much-hyped showdown between Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.”

Ahead of the releases of the two cinematic titans on Friday, Lillian designed the perfect outfit for the “Barbenheimer” experience.

The self-confessed nerd re-created Cillian Murphy’s Oppenheimer suit and combined it with the bright-pink colors associated with Barbie.

Horticulturist Lillian spent less than $100 (£77) making the garment, which took her a week.

Lilliana, from Texas said: “I kept seeing memes about Barbenheimer and wanted to bring it to life.

“I bought almost everything off Amazon or thrift the items.

“I basically just broke down the posters of Oppenheimer and figured out what elements I needed. Hat, belt, tie, etc.

“The internet community really enjoyed it.

“There were a lot of people sharing it and saying that they loved it.

“I think another aspect that drew me to making this was that these movies are basically dichotomous of each other but everyone wants to see both.”

Both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” were released on July 21.
