Akshay Kumar, Nupur Sanon’s ‘Filhaal 2’ Ends On A Heartbreaking Note
MUMBAI, India — “Filhaal 2- Mohabbat,” starring Akshay Kumar and Nupur Sanon, is finally out. It has left fans heartbroken as the protagonists’ love story doesn’t have a happy ending in the music video.
Yesterday, Kumar took to Instagram and shared the link to the song.
“But ‘Filhaal 2- Mohabbat’ is a result of your immense love. Now all yours,” he captioned the post.
The latest track is a sequel to “Filhall,” which was released in 2019.
Speaking more about the music video of “Filhaal 2,” it showcases the pain one goes through after a breakup. In the video, we can see Dr. Kabir Malhotra (Kumar) getting teary-eyed when his love Meher Grewal (essayed by Sanon) gets married to Virk.
Even after Meher’s (Sanon) marriage, Kabir (Kumar) did not lose hope and tried to get in touch with Meher. However, the love triangle ended when Kabir died in an accident, leaving fans heavy-hearted.
Before releasing the song, Sanon visited a gurdwara (place of worship for Sikhs) to seek God’s blessings.
“Seeking blessings for the entire team of ‘Filhaal 2- Mohabbat,” said Sanon on her Instagram story.
She even expressed her gratitude towards Kumar.
“Learnt so much about you, sir. About acting and so much beyond acting. Only and only respect for the person you are. Thank you for being my mentor,” said Sanon.
Sanon is the sister of Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon.
In 2005, she uploaded her first song, “Bekarar karke,” on YouTube. She then went on to sing “Teri Galiyaan,” which became a massive hit on YouTube. She also performed the song “Janam Janam,” from the film “Dilwale.”
Arvindr Khaira who directed the music video of “Filhaal 2,” had put up an Instagram post announcing the release date of the music video.
“So Finally, Finally first Look of Filhaal2,” said Khaira in the post.
The new music video is being appreciated in the Hindi music and Film industry. Joginder Taneja, a film trade analyst, and film critic shared a tweet lauding Sanon’s work.
“This is just the second screen outing for @NupurSanon,” said Taneja in the tweet. “The way she has handled such a difficult part (of a woman whose heart is still beating for her first love) shows a lot of maturity. The video is even better than the first, and Nupur has played it on screen with so much grace.”
