A lone Chinese demonstrator (also known as “Tank Man”) stands down a column of tanks June 5, 1989 at the entrance to Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China. The incident took place on the morning after Chinese troops fired upon pro-democracy students who had been protesting in the square since April 15, 1989.  Last Friday, on the 32nd anniversary of Tiananmen Square, images and videos of “Tank Man” were taken down worldwide from Bing, Microsoft’s search engine. Later, a Microsoft (MSFT) spokesman said they were taken offline “by mistake” attributing the removal to ‘human error.’  The images reappeared on Saturday globally outside of China.
